Guidance Needed for MPhil Dissertation Project

I'm in the early stages of my MPhil dissertation and finding myself a bit lost in the vast sea of research. My topic centers on comparative political systems, and while it's a subject I'm deeply interested in, the breadth of information and analytical depth required is daunting. I could really use some guidance on how to narrow my focus and refine my research questions.
