"Preaching" to MYSELF. Jonathan's message today reminds me of some Biblical wisdom my father-in-law, Rev. Ted Rich shared with me not long before his death in the 1970's. Unlike Jonathan, Ted had less than 7 years of education in schools and was an alcoholic until his early 40's. After he was saved, Ted became a Baptist preacher limited to small churches in rural Shelby County, Alabama. As we sat on the porch one evening, smoking cigarettes, Ted said, "Earl, keep God's Word in your heart, to live by. But, also spread God's Word wherever you go and as far as you can cast it."
